Evidence-based Interventions

Evidence-based Interventions

Evidence-based interventions are key to the team at Hatchlings London. Many of the children we support have been referred on the basis that they are showing early signs of language and/or developmental delay or disorder. We work with any child, with or without a diagnosis, as well as those who are neurotypical but have other challenges such as general behaviour issues, feeding challenges, toilet training struggles and many more.

At Hatchlings London we focus solely on NDBI's (Naturalistic Developmental Behavioural Interventions), which are both valid and evidence-based.  These interventions combine both a behavioural and developmental approach in their treatment and are set within the natural environment. They utilise the underpinnings and technological framework of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) to guide their teachings.

NDBI's include:
Early Start Denver Model (ESDM)
Pivotal Response Therapy (PRT)
Enhanced Milieu Teaching
Joint Attention, Symbolic Play, Engagement & Regulation (JASPER)
Social Communication/Emotional Regulation/Transactional Support (SCERTS)

However should you need or wish to go through the diagnostic process, we can refer you to appropriate services.

Most of the research on early intervention is currently conducted in the area of Autism and related disorders. This is due to it being the most sizeable research population available. While most of the children we work with may not actually have autism or even go on to receive a diagnosis, most display traits which can be barriers to their learning and development. Below you can find links that show further information on early intervention research.
